Welcome to the Alina Choir! Founded in 2023, our ensemble gathers between forty and fifty exceptional amateur singers with a passion for the choral repertoire, under the musical direction of renowned conductor Hilary Davan Wetton.
Meeting biannually, we take part in intensive singing weekends in lovely settings. Formed through close friendships and a shared love of choral music, we aim to bring a sense of unity and cohesion that will be embodied in our performances. Each singing weekend involves an intensive rehearsal schedule and culminates in a concert, which will be given in varying towns and cities throughout the UK. It is the policy of the Choir to perform in buildings of real merit; every concert will be a special event, and we shall collaborate with exceptional accompanists and instrumentalists.
Our repertoire is eclectic. It covers a variety of classical music, ranging from the Renaissance to Contemporary works. Our inaugural weekend took place in Oxford in September 2023. This was a great success, culminating in a stunning performance to a full-capacity audience. In the words of one audience member…
